Our 3rd Annual Pine Grove Autism Conference was held on March 18, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Columbia, SC for an audience of almost 400 attendees!

We want to thank our partner, Family Connections, presenters, and attendees for, once again, making this a very special day for all involved.

This year’s talks included:

> Understanding & Managing Co-Occurring Disorders in ASD by Jane Charles, M.D, Pediatrician, Researcher, & Educator – MUSC Developmental Pediatrics

> Practical Verbal Behavior Techniques for Autistic Children & Helping Professionals by Bob Egelson, M.A., LPA

> Autism Transition Planning: Exploring Resources for Families & Professionals by Catherine Bradley, Ph.D., Assistant Professor – MUSC Developmental Pediatrics

The Autism Conference raises $7,500 for Family Connection of South Carolina!

In this picture David Perhach, the owner and President of Pine Grove, is seen giving a $7,500 donation check to Family Connection Executive Director, Amy Nienhuis, and Professional Development and Education Manager, Suzanne Wingard.

The donation will be used to help SC families in need. We are incredibly proud that the success of the conference has allowed us to give back to the community!

On Friday, April 10, 2015 we held our 2nd Annual Pine Grove Autism Conference (www.scautismconference.com) at the First Baptist Church in Columbia, SC for over 250 professionals!

We want to thank our partner, Family Connections, presenters, and attendees for, once again, making this a very special day for all involved.

In only two years the conference has grown into an important event where professionals discuss new research, treatment/interventions, and community resources in South Carolina.

We had talks from top researchers in the state to include:

> The Early Signs of Autism by Jane E. Roberts, Ph.D.

> The Evolution of Autism Diagnosis and How It Has Evolved by Laura Carpenter, Ph.D., BCBA

> Function-Based, Positive Behavior Supports for Challenging Behavior by Katie Wolfe, Ph.D., BCBA-D

> Autism Panel Q & A with Family Connection, Laura Carpenter, Ph.D., BCBA, and Caroline DiBattisto, M.D.

Pine Grove Donates $5,000 to Family Connection!!

The money earned from the conference gave Pine Grove the opportunity to donate $5,000 to Family Connection.
